Start with Smart Stock Selection
With PAI, waste adds up fast.
Oversized shapes can cost you twice: First, when you buy more material than needed; again, when you machine it away.
All Duratron™ PAI shapes are supplied oversized—usually 0.020— 0.030″ above nominal. That’s ideal for finishing, so if your part finishes at nominal, start there. Don’t size up unless you have to.
For lower-cost plastics, grabbing standard shapes off the shelf works fine. With PAI, yield matters more. MCG offers a wider range of Duratron™ PAI extruded and compression-molded options. That gives you more ways to fit the stock to the part, minimize costs and machining time, and maximize performance and value.
