The tool offers insights into more than 1,200 chemicals at different concentrations and temperatures. Choose the chemical, concentration, and temperature that most closely matches your application, and you are provided with simplified resistance ratings for various MCG materials.
The Four Ratings
A: Resistant | B: Partially Resistant | C: Non-Resistant | D: Dissolves |
Little or no change. Suitable for practical use. | Some changes over time. Short exposures may be OK. | Material performance drops quickly. Not recommended. | The material dissolves in the chemical. |
A Real World Example
Imagine we have a customer in the orange juice processing industry. Oranges contain citric acid, so you can select that chemical from the drop-down menu. Then, adjust the temperature and concentration to see which MCG materials perform best, helping you recommend the most cost-effective option for your parts.
Room temperature? | TIVAR®, Acetron™ POM-C and Ertalyte™ PET-P are solid choices to test. |
Higher temperatures? | Materials like Fluorosint™ and Ketron™ PEEK likely offer the best performance. |
